With four races in the books in the 2022 Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires, Hixon Motor Sports (HMS) is adding Ethan Tyler for the remainder of the season. As a former karting champion and multi-time Spec Miata winner, Tyler brings added depth to the already stacked HMS program and will begin his quest for race wins and podium results this weekend at the famed Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
“The opportunity to join a team like Hixon Motor Sports is amazing, and I will do my best to contribute to the team in the form of results, feedback and support Lemons of Love on and off the racetrack,” explained Princeton University student, Ethan Tyler, who will drive the HMS #80 Lemons of Love Cup car. “This is not an individual endeavor for me, but it is one where I look to help in every way possible.”
“We look forward to having Ethan as part of the HMS family,” explained Shea Holbrook, Hixon Motor Sports Team Manager. “Ethan has a knack about him that can be only described as a winner, and I think that will take him a long way in our program. We can’t wait to have him and his family with us for the remainder of the 2022 season.”
Team Owner Bryan Hixon added, “We have had a lot of down time between events and a lot of time to refine some areas that needed work, but it has also strengthened areas that were already strong within HMS. Upgrades to the team itself have been made during the break after St. Petersburg, and we are in order to take on Mid-Ohio and provide Ethan Tyler and his HMS teammates a victory circle capable race car. Ethan, as well as the rest of the team drivers, will benefit from this roster addition, and I can’t wait to see our now six-driver team back on track at Mid-Ohio.”
Four races out of fourteen in the 2022 Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires are already in the books. Next up for Hixon Motor Sports will be rounds five and six this coming weekend at the highly technical Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.
